July 2001: tax dollars at work - Isle of Klezbos meets Long Island! A
local politician makes with the photo op; later his office sent us a bevy of these 8x10s so we
too can remember this magic moment.

Performing at Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, August 1998; the sun was
setting over the audience and hundreds of women were dancing in front of
Night Stage. Catherine Popper is already here as bassist; Meg Montgomery is
subbing for Pam (who was off on tour with Natalie Merchant and guesting with
the Indigo Girls at Lilith Fair). For more credits, see the Spring 1998
promo photo below. |
An early incarnation of Isle of Klezbos at Pam's place after rehearsal,
spring 1998: Nicki Parrott (bass), Franya Berkman (bari sax), Pam Fleming
(trumpet), Rachelle Garniez (accordion), Carol Chaikin (clarinet/sax), Becky
Miller (vioin), Eve Sicular (drums) - this crew was the precursor of our
working band for Michigan Night Stage our first time around... before Lilith
Fair took Pam for the summer, after Debby Karpel was summoned to opera
workshop in Europe, and just prior to Catherine Popper joining as our
bassist. Photo by Christine Whitehead |
